For the teaching professional

There are 28 million Golfers in the U.S.

These individuals spend 24.3 billion dollars in equipment and fees per year. Golf injuries affect 15-20% of golfers each year with low back injuries reported in 6 million of these individuals. The average male golfer is a 28 handicap and has not lowered his score in 20 years. These golfers spend countless hours and dollars on lessons and equipment. A 20% injury rate at a country club of 500 people means that 100 people at any given time may not be out on the course due to injury. Think of the money lost by a golf course as a result of member injuries

There are as many Unique Swings as there are Golfers

There are a dozen or so different golf swing faults that have been identified and most amateur golfers will display many of them. 64% of players lose their posture, 45% swing over the top. These individuals count on the teaching professional to give them proper instruction and guidance in regard to correcting these faults. But what if the golfer is unable to make the required correction due to a physical weakness or limitation?

How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Chiropractic is a health profession that is concerned with the condition and alignment of the spine due to its vital structural importance as well as its affect on the nervous system. Your nervous system is the master control system, controlling every action and reaction in the body. Keeping the spine in proper alignment keeps bones and tissue off of delicate nerves exiting between the vertebrae, thus insuring optimum function of the structures supplied by these nerves. A careful examination is performed on each patient including orthopedic and neurological testing as well as sEMG and X-ray analysis to ensure that the proper vertebrae are moved in the proper direction and the nervous system is freed from irritation.

Dr. Spencer Eaton's further training in golf related injuries and swing mechanics combined with his experience in treating professional golfers during PGA Tour events allows for further analysis, treatment, and correction specifically related to the golfer. The goal of this analysis is not in the teaching or correction of the golfer's game, but to identify the bio-mechanical aberrations that can predispose the golfer to injury and cause faults in the golf swing. This analysis involves specific testing of many basic areas of functionality, uncovering the cause of the swing fault. Weaknesses identified during this exam can be corrected with proper training and rehabilitation, thus leading to a healthier and more athletic golfer able to make the necessary corrections to his/her golf swing to play better and play longer into their life.
